Who's the Boss?

1.29.07
THEME: Cities & Towns
MC: Adam

Many tuneful stabs at this weeks theme, Cities & Towns. Some highlights included Leslie's all Springsteen set, Bev's all NY set, Erick's "Kalamazoo," and MC Adam Smith trying to talk 90's gangsta. I also got to play "albaquerque"(sp) by Neil Young, which i think has the funniest chorus ever. Props to Adam for his fine work on the mic, though he did use some fowl language. Which brings us to next weeks theme, "adult content"(think parental advisory stickers) There was some debate about having some sort of post modern record club night where all the songs are about record club...but that was nixed... maybe another night. So all the music next week is for adults only, and may be hard to get online... and seeing as i will be out of town, might not be recorded anyway.

The order of this week's sets was thus: Adam, Beverly, Kirsten, Leslie, Brennan, Mark, Erick, Hagen, and Malcolm.

Enjoy,
Malcolm

BY THE POWER OF ZEUS!
The Kzoo Record Club is online.

1/22/07
THEME: Mythology
MC: Malcolm

Alright, this is the first official broadcast, podcast, bloggcast of the Kzoo record club. We're still working out the bugs, so sorry for any poor sound quality, excessive dead air, and any other glitches. I was MC-ing, so let me also apologize for all the bad jokes and idiotic banter.

For those unfamiliar with the Record Club, every week we choose a theme and play a bunch of vinyl that has something to do with that theme. This week it's mythology. All the music has some reference to mythology, legend, tall tales, stuff like that. Attending and "spinning" this weeks record club were(in order of appearance): Malcolm, Erick, Aaron, Leslie, Beverly, Hagan , Brennan, and Adam.

Enjoy,
Malcolm
