The Flowers Cover Everything

6.24.07
THEME: Numerology and Flora

Some things just go together naturally. And other's are a bit more challenging. Like numbers and plants. Or nachos and pop.

For those of you not in the know, four is the first solid number. There are also four watches in the day and four quarters of the moon. I've read that four is the largest number of objects that we (you, me, humanity) can observe and instantly know the quantity of with out counting, grouping, or some other conscious process. Apparently this is open to debate however.

Kirsten returned safely from Mexico and brought gifts for all. Malcolm I dare say you're in luck. Pat too brought "stuff" and Leslie joined us both by live phone and voicemail.

Anyone wondering how to spend some YouTube time might consider the following. Sorry, the Catch/Eat a Muppet does not appear to be available. Kate does transition rather nicely from the bass/veil motif to some sort of Flashdance/battle elf theme in the selected video but please, branch out and experience their other offerings as well. There is one more that I wrote down but can't read my writing, the closest I can figure is Porcupine Truck.
Next week's theme is Cosmetology. It should prove difficult to select the evening's highlight album cover. I'm sure we're all looking forward to the challenge.

Are you talking to me?

THEME: Interpersonal Communications

Breaker One-nine, did y'all happen to catch last nights record club? If not you missed a serious knowledge transfer. Ryan learned us all real well on both direct and indirect channels and methods verbal and non. I for one think he deserves an A+ and not only for his amazing presentation.

As summer draws near, we approach the equanox and the temperatures start to rise our minds turn to the bounty that is Michgan's agricultural splender. I hear that this past week's warm spell has been good for our grain crops and now that it has broken with heavens have provided rain it should be a good year. We shall see, following a dicussion on the number of seeds found within the blueberry fruit next weeks theme was born, Numerology & Flora. You can count on it growing into something good...

Totally Random Record Club

6.10.07
THEME: Totally Random Record Club

I didn't play Tchaikovsky this week, but I did take notes.

Each member selected 10 albums by a (pseudo) random method. Some closed their eyes and grabbed, others pulled caps down over their heads and spun around, I rolled dice. Once we got to Leslie's we all drew names and proceeded to painstakingly and entirely unrandomly compile a set from our selected associate's offerings.

The order was (picker -> player):
Erick -> Hagen
Ryan -> Erick
Beverly -> Leslie
Hagen -> Beverly
Leslie -> Ryan

This was the eve of Leslie's departure to DC for a three week stint and we wish her well. Due to her plan of participating by proxy, and Ryan's educational pursuits for this summer, next week's theme will be Interpersonal Communication. We'll talk about it then.

I forgot

THEME: I Forgot
.

So much fun was had at karaoke that I guess no one could be bothered to think into what the future, and the next week's theme, might hold. By now though I really have forgotten who played what so no cool picture this week. Boy it sure is hard following in Malcom's footsteps.

Next week is (and was) Totally Random Record Club. But that's another post.
