Montana Bound

4.23.07
THEME: Places

Sadly, no one had the album pictured above, but there were quite a few montana themed songs at our "farewell to brennan/places-theme" night. Unfortunately, i forgot to plug in my laptop, and the battery died at the tail end of the night, so some of the music was lost... i'm not sure how much, but i think it was some of hagens set and all of brennan's(sorry). Anyway, for those unaware, brennan is about to embark on a journey to montana, where he'll be spending the next 6 months, possibly more. Sad to see you go, brennan. May the voice of waylon jennings echo in your thoughts, and guide you down the path of righteousness. BTW, the onion did an amazing column called "Ask The Voice-Over From The Dukes Of Hazzard"

Next week we're going to get physical with the theme "anatomy"

later,

4.9.07
THEME: Versions and Versions

Covers and variations on songs this week. I'm too lazy to write anything right now. (If any fellow club folk want to jump in and write stuff, please do.)

Next week we're playing all those records you see in any thrift store.

What's the Score?

4.2.07
THEME: Soundtrack to an Imaginary Film

So, everyone got together and we listened to music and imagined films that accompanied the music. In order of appearance: "The Super-8 Films of Hagen, co-starring Hagen", "A new wave teen romance by Ryan","The life, loss, and redemption of an ordinary man by Erick", "It's Hard to be a Pusher by Leslie", "A metamorphic journey to the country by Beverly", "Alfie 2, the trials of a philandering pizza delivery boy by Aaron", "A southern gothic vampire tale by Kirsten", "The secret exploits of Margaret Thatcher's gay son by Malcolm".

Didn't bother plugging in the mixer this week, so there's some dead air and crummy transitions.. sorry. Next week we're hearing double with multiple versions of songs. See you then,

Malcolm
