THEME: Record Karaoke
Sorry I've been slacking on this blogg, I've been busy moving and such. But dont worry, soon I'll be giving it up completely. Unfortunately with this afore mentioned move, I will not be able to attend the great kalamazoo record club regularly. It is sad, and I will miss them dearly. Hopefully someone else will pick up the blogg torch, and I'll still be able to tune in.
That aside, record club was blowing up the spot this week at the all vinyl sing along! We played lots of instrumental stuff and added our own "singing," with some amazing results. I had to cut the mp3 up into smaller chunks for the sake of saving some space on your ipod. I also added the hit single from the evening, the acapela version of the classic "boogie in your butt." featuring Hagen and Leslie and beat boxing by Ryan. There were a couple guests, Pat Something who sang some fiery numbers, and his buddy who we mistakenly thought might be a good MC. Great performances all around. Listen for Kirsten's amazing slur on "Licking Stick," and Hagan's weird Bobby Macfaren solo. Lots of good soul music in there, thanks to one amazing record by Willie Mitchell, brought in by Erick. Lots of beatles in there too... Ryan cleverly panned out the vocals from those old records (dont try to adjust your stereo). Enjoy the mahem. Hopefully Hagen will post some photos from the evening soon.

Wow. Nothing makes a Friday at work go faster than Record Club Karaoke.
